Follow the Hoffmann Family!

Let me introduce you to...The Hoffmanns!

The Hoffmann family graces the cover of the book and puts a true visual on the difficulty of being separated. I'm enjoying the opportunity to get to know this wonderful family. Pete has been deployed to the Middle East and we'll keep you up to date with how he's doing.

Pictured on the cover are Pete and Sue Hoffmann, their twin daughters Kassey and Trina and 10 yr. old Rachel is in the middle of that hug! I'll let Sue introduce you to her family:

Kassey and Trina are 12 year old twins and are in the 7th grade.  We do not know if they are identical or not since all tests came back inconclusive.  We would need DNA testing to know for sure.   Both girls are on high honor roll in school.  Sports activities include school Volleyball, Club Volleyball and Basketball for both girls and Track for Kassey.  They are both highly involved in girl scouts as Cadettes currently working toward their Silver Award. They are both on our schools faith-a-thon team.

Kassey recently was a runner up for an art contest in which she was rewarded with several books for our school library. Kassey's hobbies include reading, spending time with her golden retriever Tessa, drawing, skiing and hanging out with her friends.

Trina's hobbies include playing with her Australian Shepard Cajun, skiing, shopping, and hanging out with friends,

Rachel is 10 years old and in 4th grade.  She is on high honors in school with straight As. Her favorite subject is Science.  Hobbies include Junior Girl Scouts, sports, playing with her Sheltie Buddy which we adopted from a rescue, reading, animals, drawing, skiing and hanging out with her friends.  She looks forward to playing organized sports in school next year.

I am a substitute teacher with a degree in elementary education.  I volunteer at the kids' school quite a bit when not teaching and am Rachel's Girl Scout troop leader.  I enjoy any activity outside including biking, skiing, walking, etc.  I enjoy reading and belong to a book club.  Hobbies include exercising at the gym, crafts, cross stitch, watching movies and cuddling with all our dogs.

Pete is a pilot with NWA in which he has been recently furloughed. He has 13 years of active duty Air Force experience and has been in the WI Air National Guard for the last 3 years.  He has been currently activated to serve in Operation Free Iraq.  He has participated in many of our country's conflicts in the past including Dessert Storm, Kosovo, and others (I can't remember all by name).  His hobbies include golf, reading (especially history), working out, and spending time with friends and family.

Pete is still gone in the Middle East.  Many of his peers have returned already. Unfortunately he is in a place were they are keeping individuals longer to support the reconstruction effort.  He may be home as soon as a couple of weeks or as late as the end of June.  We have no idea since it changes daily.

As a family we enjoy camping, skiing and travel.

Welcome home! Major Pete Hoffmann is home from Iraq!

His family shares these Welcome Home photos with you.
